1879 Michigan Wolverine's Irving Kane Pond signed CDV photo.
Hi Rob,
I buy and sell old photographs, more so for those into genealogy but I just discovered that one of the many CDV (Carte de Visite) type of photos I have is of a young 1870's I.K.Pond, which I later was able to determine that it was Irving Kane Pond, famed Chicago architect, but I also learned that he was a member of the first Michigan Wolverines team, and the first ever supposedly to score for them.
Anyway, I'm wondering if this is worth more as a sports memorabilia artifact or as a young, budding architect. Any ideas on this sort of situation or if this would be worth anything to anyone? Thanks Rob!

Nate, that sounds like a fascinating piece of Michigan football and architectural history! You know, it's really going to come down to the context if somebody is interested in I.K. Pond, Michigan football, or both!
Some of the cool autograph collections I have seen are where you have a framed display showing half from one aspect of their life, and the other from a different one.
For instance, I saw a really neat piece at a shop in Las Vegas that had a movie costume worn by Ronald Reagan displayed with a presidential photograph next to it, and have seen similar items for JFK, Michael Jordan, etc.
Personally, I think that might be an item to hang onto, and get it matted and framed along with some vintage Michigan memorabilia such as a program, or old ticket stub.
