Auto Racing Autographs

Greg Biffle @ Pocono

Auto racing autographs are more easily obtained by collectors compared to other sports.

Race car drivers are very fan oriented for the most part, and make themselves accessible to their fans at the race venues.

Sponsors and promoters of auto racing encourage collecting driver autographs. Most of the drivers will make autograph appearances in their trailers and sell their merchandise and memorabilia. They also will attend "meet and greets" before the race at one of their car sponsor's tents or events.

This makes collecting Nascar driver autographs and Nascar racing memorabilia, in particular, a fun hobby due to the accessibility of the drivers to their fans.

Many racing fans collect race-used equipment, and parts of the race cars, especially the tires.

These items are not signed but get you into the race and look great displayed!

So you went to a race and came back with a lot of autographed items, huh? Many of the drivers will sell diecast cars in their merchandise trailers, and make autograph signing appearances before and after the races.

Obviously you want to preserve your memory and investment - check out some of these cases below.

Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are the two main superstars that racing autograph collectors covet. Both will sign for their fans but the demand far outweighs their ability to sign for everyone.

I saw Jeff Gordon make an appearance at the tent next to mine at the race in Phoenix, AZ last year just hours before the race started.

In fact, both of their websites are advising fans that they have temporarily stopped signing autographs through the mail in order to catch up with their current backlog.

Maybe when the dust settles you should send "Jr" a letter to the following address and see what happens!
