Axl Rose Autograph CollectingAxl Rose is by far my favorite musician, and although known to be a recluse, he is actually a pretty good signer if you are lucky enough to catch him at the right time. With the exception in the video below, he seems to have moved away from signing a full "W. Axl Rose" when signing in recent years, and commonly will only sign with "Axl" in recent years. I actually saw Axl at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in December of 2001 the night before their anticipated show at The Joint on 12/29/01. There were limited sightings of him that weekend, but other members of the band were frequently seen in the main lobby and casino area chatting with fans, signing autographs, and taking pictures. When he arrived, he was whisked directly inside a side door by his bodyguard Earl (you can see him in "November Rain" and "Estranged" music videos), and I was even able to try to get his autograph. One of my music autograph collecting goals is an autographed guitar from the entire Guns N Roses band. Hopefully with Guns N Roses touring again, collectors will see more authentic autographs, rare signed music memorabilia, and merchandise from Axl available! Axl is not one to make a lot of public appearances, and when he does they usually are spontaneous. Many autograph collectors have been able to get him at hotels and airports when he is in town for a show.
