Baseball Autographs and Autographed Memorabilia
I know from experience that baseball autographs have traditionally been easier to obtain as famous baseball players are generally more accessible to fans before games to sign autographs. This is how I started in autograph collecting as a little kid. Baseball autograph values have consistently been strong through the years. The exception being some of the players implicated in the performance enhancing drugs scandal such as Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire, who have seen their prices drop dramatically in the hobby. Even today with the escalating autograph values of autographed baseball memorabilia, players are still willing to sign before the game.
Baseball Autograph Signings
It's getting more difficult than it used to be to get autographs before the game at many of the new stadiums. It's an unfortunate trend where you can't even get access to try unless you have a ticket for the lower level of the field. Some teams have setup baseball autograph signings before the game with select players. Collecting autographed items of famous baseball players has remained popular through the years in good part because of this accessibility for fans to players, especially if you are collecting
minor league baseball autographs.
Sports memorabilia and baseball card shows frequently hold

that have guests scheduled to appear in-person. These are great opportunities to meet an athlete and obtain their signature.
Many of the players are friendly at these events, and will shake hands, take pictures, etc. Many of the guests are current or future Hall of Famers, and players from local teams. Baseballs autographed by one player or an entire team make excellent collectibles. If you are interested in collecting
