Celebrity Book Signings
Deepak Chopra Book Signing

Celebrity book signings are excellent opportunities to get celebrity author autographs.
These autograph signing events are usually very structured by the bookstore and management. Some people will only sign the specific book they are promoting, and other books and memorabilia are usually refused.
Book signings give you the chance to get autographs from people that you normally would rarely have a chance to get one from. I have been to events where high-profile politicians such as John McCain and Hillary Clinton have appeared, for example.

Along with

though, there are times it never hurts to bring a second item along in the case they are in a good mood and will sign it. Signed books, especially first editions, make valuable additions to any autograph collection!
When a popular author, celebrity figure, or politician releases a book there is normally a book signing tour featuring celebrity appearances at major bookstores such as Barnes and Noble, as well as small independent book stores. Keep an eye on
best selling book lists,
as many authors strategically use book signings as ways to increase their sales.
Tickets and wristbands are generally sold in advance and depending on the author, can sell out quite quickly. There are also normally limits to the amount of tickets per person.
Many large book signings also offer signed books through the mail. Bookstores will negotiate an amount of books to be signed, usually occurring before the public autograph signing.
This offers not only the advantage of convenience if the autograph signing event is not near your area, the signature may also be better since the author is probably not as rushed and hasn't signed hundreds of books already.
