Let me ask you a question: how hard would it be to setup an email address pretending to be someone you aren't? Some of you may already do that. But seriously, you could establish an account, and then post a tip on a blog that it's some A-list celebrities personal account without too much trouble.

There are ways to find genuine email addresses for celebrities, depending on who they are and the field's they are in. For instance, if they have an official website or blog, there is likely a place to contact them. This has proved to be the best approach for many autograph collectors.

I feel the best approach remains the old-fashioned letter with a S.A.S.E. Call it karma, but I prefer to send something to the person I am contacting, and provide the price of postage for signing for me.

If you are able to locate a reliable celebrity email address, I recommend that when you write to a celebrity, you send a short note explaining that you are writing to request an autograph.

Many celebrities and athletes have charities they are involved with, or even their own foundations. Perhaps a small donation to one of their interests would assist in getting that signature. Offer to donate at least enough money to cover shipping and handling for a celebrity autograph - photo, card, etc.
