John Wayne/ Marrion Michael Morrison Autograph

Because my wife is a huge fan of John Wayne, our friend from California gave us this old picture frame with this inscription on the inside. He told us that his mom used to clean JW's mothers house and got it somehow there.


I checked with the JW museum in Iowa (his birthplace) and the lady there says " good news/bad news". Bad news is that wasn't his name in 1927. Good news is there was some conflict about his mom changing his name and giving his birth name to his brother when he was born, and JW didn't like that and to kinda "spite" his mom, still used his old name in them early days, adding credibility to it being authentic. (or something like that.)


I've tried a couple places locally in Colorado, but no one here knows much. Least not the people I've talked to. They do agree on the frame being dated from that time frame tho.
Haven't done much else with it since. Just sitting in storage.


Does anyone know a place or person who could authenticate this? If it's real it could be his first autograph! Might be worth something.
