Minor League Baseball Autographs
I started collecting minor league baseball autographs when I was 10 years old. I sometimes think this is the main reason that I am still fascinated by autograph collecting to this day. Minor league baseball players are, for the most part, very willing signers and good to the fans. While top prospects can be more difficult to get because of the demand, they still will sign. Just think if you were able to get a
Derek Jeter autograph
before he was a Yankee - probably just a little bit easier! Most collectors like to get signatures on baseball and baseball cards, as do I. If you live near a minor league team, and are able to go to a lot of games, I suggest you work on a team autographed baseball. You can also get individual
signed baseballs
of your favorite players and top prospects. An important tip - don't forget about players on the other team! You will have the opportunity to see a lot of prospects from other teams and get their autographs, you just need to do a little research to know who's who. Many teams will sell game used bats that are broken during games at affordable prices. Why not get your autographed bat collection started or jump-started this way?? My last tip is to stay current on news for the major league parent teams, as they will send players who have been on the disabled list or those that haven't been playing their best to the minor leagues for rehabilitation, reassignment, and sometimes just attitude adjustments! Get to the games early, be prepared with your Sharpie or blue ballpoint pen, and have fun!
