Phil Mickelson Autograph Profile
This photo of Phil Mickelson signing autographs for fans was taken after Phil's practice round on Wednesday at the 2005 Phoenix Open. I was fortunate enough to get Phil's autograph on an undated Masters flag that are sold out and becoming more difficult to get. He stayed there for nearly 30 minutes signing autographs for everyone - but made a strict rule of only 1 per person. Nobody could blame him, considering the Phoenix Open is one of the highest attended sporting events in the world! He would even sign
golf balls
, a practice that some of his contemporaries -
including Tiger Woods
wont accommodate.
Phil Mickelson TTM Autograph Success
Phil Mickelson is definitely one of the good guys on the Tour when it comes to signing autographs. After he won The Masters, he was more than happy to sign Masters flags, a practice many golfers shy away from. The exception to this is for Masters week at Augusta National as these flags and other Masters memorabilia are becoming highly sought after pieces of
sports memorabilia
.
Mickelson is also a collector of autographs and signed sports memorabilia himself. If you are ever in Scottsdale, you need to check out Phil's Grill at Grayhawk Golf Club. There is an impressive display of game-used and signed items from Mickelson, including a team-signed Ryder Cup golf bag from the historic 1999 team that included the late Payne Stewart. Even if you don't play golf, I encourage you to go have a beverage of your choice and see this great collection of rare signed golf memorabilia.
